Traffic Building – Leverage the power of video sharing

Posted by: admin In: SEO Tutorials

Now most search engine optimization consultants know that there are good link building tactics and then there are bad link building tactics. The major difference between the two is really in where your back links appear and if they draw in targeted traffic that take the desired action. The objective of any good link building campaign is to bring in high quality and targeted traffic that take the desired actions on your website or blog.

What are video sharing websites?

Everyone who uses the internet has probably heard of Youtube and Google videos. These are places where people can post their own original videos for the world to see. These are also great places to promote your services. However what most bloggers don’t know is these video sharing websites are also a great place from where to draw in high quality and targeted traffic.

What kinds of videos draw attention?

While there are millions or probably even billions of videos posted on Youtube and Google videos there are only a handful of videos that are worth watching. There are also tons of other videos on which people never even clicked to watch. The major deciding factor is content! As discussed in earlier posts content is king on the internet and the only way you can surely draw attention is by providing people with good content.

Video Making Rule #1

Before actually getting down to making a video you must ask yourself one very important question: What valuable bit of information or knowledge will my video convey? For instance if you are a chef and you need to attract people to your blog or website in order to sell your recipes or books you shouldn’t make a video of the many benefits your recipes will have and how delicious they will be. Content such as this isn’t good and people hate being pitched at. You will get better results if you posted cooking videos in which your main focus is on teaching people who to cook effectively. Then people who are interested will willingly visit your website and since you have established yourself as an authority on the subject they will be more than glad to buy your book.

Video Making Rule #2

To get people to click on your videos you need to include a catchy title. For a cook ‘learn to cook good food’ is an appropriate title but it won’t get many clicks, on the other hand a title such as ‘200 year old family cooking secrets revealed’ will surely get tons of clicks.

Video Making Rule #3

Don’t waste time with an intro. I see many videos on YouTube that waste a viewer’s time by first presenting flashy intros or long personal introductions which means that most people will press the stop button and move on. People surfing video sharing websites don’t have the patients to sit through your intro. Get right down to business and windup ASAP.

Conclusion

Making good videos are not difficult as a matter of fact they are rather easy. If you want people to watch your videos and then visit your blog or website you need to make things simple and answer the question asked in your title. Address the issue and then get right out.
